MarkMagic Version 6.1 Fixes:
**5.1 to 6.1 Upgrade: IMPORTANT MUST READ!**
Users
upgrading from version 5.1 mod level 051121 or earlier, to version 6.1
will experience printing problems in version 5.1 after the 6.1 upgrade
has completed.
Summary of issue: During a 5.1 to
6.1 upgrade, some 5.1 programs are replaced in order to allow both 5.1
to 6.1 to coexist. CYBRA has found older 5.1 mod levels (any before
060310) are not 100% compatible with these updated programs resulting
in some printing issues. Although 6.1 will print fine, CYBRA strongly
encourages 5.1 users who intend to temporarily continue to use 5.1 as
they test 6.1, to upgrade to mod level 060310 before upgrading to 6.1.
How to find your 5.1 mod level: Enter MRKMAG50/SETMMPRM from a
command line, Mod lvl is displayed in the upper right. Example:
051121 = 05/11/21 (YY/MM/DD)

*MarkMagic Cache Update for Version 6.1 Mod Level 071201*
We
discovered a problem with the cache feature of MarkMagic 6.1. If your
application swaps in different MarkMagic formats during one print command call
(use of the LBPARM special control field to define the format) then you could
run into this problem. If 10 or more formats are “swapped”
during the print job, you will need this update. One program was updated in
version 6.1 to resolve this. The new *PGM object name, library, and
creation date is listed below:
MMCACHE MRKMAG60 12/21/07
17:03:59
If your
objects are dated the same or newer, then you do not need this update. If they
are older, please download the following file, unzip it and follow the
instructions provided in the README.doc.

*MarkMagic Non- Critical Zebra Driver Update for
6.1 mod lvl 071201*
We discovered a minor problem with the Zebra print program in MarkMagic
6.1. This occurs when a user prints a format *LAYOUT of a Zebra
label (usually a test print with no real data), but only when their
MarkMagic Zebra device type is configured for “High Memory”. The user
will receive a Decimal Data error in their job log and no output from
the Zebra printer. If the Zebra device is configured for “Low
Memory”, there is no problem. One program was updated in version 6.1
to resolve this. The new *PGM object name, library, and creation
date is listed below:
PDZTZPL MRKMAG60 01/02/08 11:39:16
If your objects are dated the same or newer, then you do not need
this update. If they are older, please download the following file,
unzip it and follow the instructions provided in the README.doc.

IMPORTANT V5R4M0 PTF required
During a recent V5R4MO change made by IBM, the API that MarkMagic uses to retrieve the system processor group was mistakenly corrupted. IBM resolved this problem with PTF #SI27162 which was then superseded by #SI27389. We strongly recommend all V5R4M0 users download and apply this PTF today and avoid any potential MarkMagic licensing issues that could cause your MarkMagic printing/emailing/faxing to stop.
