Benefits of CYBRA RFID Solutions
CYBRA RFID systems deliver super fast ROI (Return On Investment) with savings in almost every area from document and asset tracking, WIP (Work In Process) control, inventory management, and shipping and receiving. The advantages of RFID include:
Simultaneous ID
Unlike bar codes where items must be physically separated or read individually, many RFID tags can be read at the same time - identifying multiple labels, containers or items simultaneously as they pass a fixed or handheld RFID reader. By replacing the point and scan labor-intensive operation of hand scanning pallets, cases, cartons and individual product bar codes one at a time with RFID readers that can read a whole pallet of cartons in one pass, the time it takes to unload containers or ship goods can be reduced by 80%. Add similar time savings to conduct physical inventory and you will see payback in months. RFID is the only technology that can read individual items simultaneously.
No Line of Sight Required
RFID operates without the need for line of sight. With this technology, RFID tags can be hidden or embedded in items, but still be read. For example, an RFID tag can help track a product through the painting step in a manufacturing process. This isn't possible with bar codes.
Storage To Go
RFID tags can store upwards of 30 times more information than bar codes, allowing the tag to carry much more information than a bar code can. The ability to store a unique serial number for each and every item is something that cannot be accomplished with bar codes.
Read and Write Capability
RFID tags can do the same job as bar code and more. Information can be written to and updated on the tag, whether the RFID tag is attached to an asset, tote, file folder,  item, container or pallet. This information travels with the item, acting as a self-contained database. Read/write tags can store manufacturing steps, document tracking instructions, and the complete pedigree of a product including lot and serial number.
RFID Reliability
RFID tags can be read thousands of times, and readers can collect data from hundreds of tags per second. There is no need to scan items multiple times. Because bar codes require line of sight, they are subject to environmental conditions and even a smudge can force a bar code to be scanned a second time or the data to be manually keyed.
Durable Packaging
RFID tags can be encapsulated in a number of materials that can survive high temperatures, solvents, dirt, dust, and harsh environments.
Counterfeit Proof
All it takes is a copy machine to duplicate a bar code. Not so with RFID. Each tag is one of a kind, and programmed with a unique factory assigned serial number. This number can not be changed in the field, and can help you reduce POS (Point of Sale) fraud and improve service. The unique nature of RFID prevents double scanning and saves time in both standard and self-service checkout lanes.
