Job Description :

CYBRA Corporation is looking for a highly motivated software professional with proven leadership skills for the position of Programming Team Leader. This position requires a hands-on, well-organized individual with project management, system architecture and design, programming and release control experience. The successful candidate must be proficient at system design and software engineering in a commercial software product development environment.

The Programming Team Leader must be effective at initiating and completing projects with professionalism and enthusiasm and working closely with all members of CYBRA's dynamic software development and maintenance team. The Team Leader will supervise a team of six programmers in the design, programming and maintenance of CYBRA's products — MarkMagic Bar Code Label, RFID and Forms software and EdgeMagic RFID Control Software. Above all, the successful candidate must be expert at setting team priorities and meeting deadlines.

The Programming Leader will build the development team, including the recruitment and hiring of new members. The principal software language across all supported platforms is Java, while both Java and RPG-ILE are used on the IBM iSeries. Other responsibilities include playing a key role in determining future application architecture, managing source control, the build and patch processes, and driving the development and maintenance of build automation tools and internal support systems.

Primary platforms of interest are Windows, Unix/AIX, Linux and IBM iSeries. The successful candidate must be familiar with Web services and developing interfaces using SOA. Programming team responsibilities include installing and configuring operating systems, commercial databases (Oracle, Sybase, DB2), and other applications.

Knowledge and Experience: 

Education:

• Education and Training: B.S. in computer science or a related field required or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years commercial software development leadership experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid commitment to the development and maintenance of the highest quality source code and system design
• Strong time leadership and organization skills
• Self-directed
• Experience in commercial software development, including all stages of the software development lifecycle
• Superior software engineering practices
• Java development experience
• SOA and Web services
• SQL
• OOD
• Experience with source control systems, defect tracking systems, unit test frameworks, and similar tools
• Experience administering a variety of UNIX/Linux operating systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desired Experience:

• Eclipse IDE
• Web application servers (Tomcat and WebSphere) 
• Knowledge of IBM iSeries and RPG ILE
• Familiarity with bar code printing and scanning
• Knowledge of RFID encoding and scanning
• Experience with ERP, WMS applications such as BPCS, MAPICS, JDE, etc.

Location:

This position is based at CYBRA's Headquarters in Yonkers , NY . Travel to CYBRA's West Seneca , NY support office and to selected customer locations may be necessary from time to time.
